SCIENCE

We´ve already learnt about the three periods of Prehistory: Paleolithic, Neolithic and the Metal Ages.

First of all, let´s check the answers to the questions you had to investigate yesterday. You don´t need to have the same words. Just check if you have got the same information.

  • Where did they live in the Metal Ages?
    • They lived in tribes. Most of them lived in bigger villages or towns surrounded by walls for protection.
  • Which metals did they use in the Metal Ages?
    • Copper was the first metal used to make tools and weapons. Then, people discovered that they could make their metal tools stronger by mixing copper with tin. This new metal is called bronze. Finally, people learned how to make tools and weapons using iron. This metal is much stronger and is more naturally abundant.
  • Which tools and weapons did they make with metals?
    • They made stronger hoes, sickles and plows to dig up the ground and plant the crops. They made pots to cook. They also made swords.
  • Which was a great invention from the Metal Ages?
    • A great invention from the Metal Ages was the wheel.

I´ve been receiving many comic strips about the Paleolithic and I love all of them. They are really fun and creative. I´ve got a similar task for today.

TASK: Create a comic strip about the Neolithic or the Metal Ages

You have to:
- tell a short story with the comic strip.
- include at least 4 pictures.
- show only things that were in the chosen period.

Instructions:

1. Choose the period you want to work on: Neolithic or the Metal Ages.2. Make a list with the things from that period that you want to include in your comic.
3. Invent the story you want to tell.
4. Divide this story in different scenes or pictures.
5. Draw a draft of your comic strip.
6. Take a separate piece of paper.
7. With a ruler, divide the paper in as many parts as you need.
8. Draw the pictures for each scene.
9. Draw speech bubbles showing what the characters say.
10. Colour the pictures.
11. Take a photo of your comic and send it to angel.lahoz@educa.madrid.org

Note: This activity will count for your final mark!

Deadline: Thursday, 19th March 2020

Have a nice day! Any questions... angel.lahoz@educa.madrid.org
